Areas of Practice
Scott Webster, a partner in the firm’s ERISA practice group, specializes in all aspects of ERISA and executive compensation matters, including the benefit aspects of mergers and acquisitions. He joined the ERISA practice group in 1998 after having completed rotations in the firm’s Corporate and Tax practice groups.
Mr. Webster works closely with employers and executives in structuring, implementing and administering equity-based compensation, incentive compensation and other employee benefit plans and arrangements, including providing advice with respect to tax, accounting and securities law concerns that arise in connection with such plans and arrangements.
Mr. Webster also represents numerous financial service organizations and other fiduciaries concerning issues arising in connection with the investment of employee benefit plan assets and the establishment and operation of collective investment vehicles, including fiduciary, investment and prohibited transaction matters.
Professional Activities
Mr. Webster is a member of the Boston Bar Association’s ERISA Committee, the Employee Benefits Committee of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and the Maine Bar Association.
Publications/Presentations
Mr. Webster’s most recent article is “New Accounting and Deferred Compensation Rules Impact Compensation Strategies ,” which appeared in the March, 2005 edition of the Venture Capital Journal.
Mr. Webster has been a panelist at seminars regarding executive compensation and ERISA fiduciary matters presented by the Boston Bar Association’s ERISA Committee and the Boston Securities Analysts Society.
