Alison Norris, an associate in Goodwin Procter’s Litigation Department, has extensive experience in commercial litigation with an emphasis on consumer financial services litigation, white collar crime and government investigations. She concentrates her practice on the defense of individual and class claims in complex commercial disputes and has significant experience in internal and governmental  investigations on both the domestic and international fronts.

WORK FOR CLIENTS

Ms. Norris has advised clients through all phases of litigation as both plaintiffs’ and defense counsel, and has gained extensive discovery and law and motion experience in the California Superior Courts, the Central and Southern Districts of California, and before the American Arbitration Association. She also has jury trial experience before the Central District of California and bench trial experience in New York City Family Court.

Ms. Norris is the author of “American Copyright Issues in the Pre-Grokster Landscape,” which was published in the New York University School of Law Journal of Legislation & Public Policy. She is also the co-author of “The Communications Decency Act: Libel Immunity Debate,” which appeared in the ABA TTIPS Media, Privacy & Defamation Law Committee Newsletter.

Ms. Norris is admitted to practice in California, and before the Northern, Central, Southern and Eastern Districts of California, as well as the Ninth Circuit.

RECOGNITION

Ms. Norris was the 2009 recipient of Goodwin Procter’s annual Robert B. Fraser Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to the firm’s pro bono clients.
