Tony Medaglia, of counsel in Goodwin Procter’s Business Law Department, focuses his practice on the representation of technology companies – both public and private; private equity; mergers and acquisitions; public and private sales of securities; corporate buyouts and reorganizations; and transactions involving intellectual property. He has extensive experience representing hedge funds, investment advisors and venture capitalists.

Mr. Medaglia has structured, negotiated and closed numerous strategic transactions for a diverse group of clients. He acted as counsel to the acquired company in the sale of Epoch Systems to EMC, Axon Networks to 3Com, Preferred Systems to Cheyenne Software, Zymark Corporation to Berwind Industries, Cadia Networks to Fore Systems, Voicetek Corporation to Aspect Telecommunications Corporation, Altron Incorporated to Sanmina Corporation, Epicon to Nortel Networks, Eagle Tribune Publishing Company to Community Newspaper Holdings, Ark-Les Corporation to Illinois Tool Works Inc., and counsel to the acquirer Cognex of Acumen, Image Industries, Isys, Mayan Automation, DVT; for Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. acquisition of Continuous Computing, Echo Tek, Momentum, TGS Group, public offerings for clients Altron, Cognex, Geotel, Netegrity, New England Bancorp, and Olympic Bancorp. He serves as general counsel to public companies Cognex Corporation, Mercury Computer Systems, Progress Software Corporation and Ezenia! Inc., as well as to several private companies.
Professional Activities
Mr. Medaglia is a member of the Boston Bar Association and its Corporate Committee, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the American Bar Association and its Technology Committee.
