Christopher Land is a senior attorney in the firm's Litigation Department and a member of the Products Liability and Mass Torts Group. His practice includes representing pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, a power and energy company, asbestos defendants, academic and research institutions, and an international non-profit organization. Mr. Land joined Goodwin Procter in 2011.

WORK FOR CLIENTS

Mr. Land has represented a number of clients in various industries including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, power and energy, science-based research institutions, and asbestos. His experience includes trials, including co-lead trial counsel, and an emphasis on cross-examination, scientific experts, depositions, fact discovery, media strategy and jury exercises. In addition, Mr. Land has extensive experience advising companies on, and preparing experts for, testimony regarding the FDA's Division of Drug Marketing, Advertising and Communications (DDMAC) and labeling requirements.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Mr. Land is a member of the Defense Research Institute, formerly sitting on State and Local Defense Organization Subcommittee (2006-2009).

MEDIA

Mr. Land has presented "People v. Gomez: Oral Arguments Before New York's Highest Court" at Tulane Law School (September 2009) and "Guidebook to Managing Mock Jury Trials and Messaging Development" at the DRI Products Liability Conference (April 2009). In addition, Mr. Land has lectured at an academic institutions institution on best practices for expert scientists throughout the litigation process.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Mr. Land was a senior associate in the New York office of DLA Piper in their Mass Torts and Products Liability practice group.

BAR AND COURT ADMISSIONS

Mr. Land is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern District of New York; and the U.S. Supreme Court.

RECOGNITION

While attending law school, Mr. Land received the Trial Advocacy Fellowship (2001).
