Eric Labbe is a counsel in the firm's Real Estate, REITs & Real Estate Capital Markets Group. He specializes in the area of commercial leasing, with extensive experience representing both landlords and tenants in office, industrial, bio-tech and retail lease negotiations and ongoing lease administration. Mr. Labbe also supervises and oversees all aspects of lease-related due diligence for clients in real estate acquisitions and corporate transactions.

WORK FOR CLIENTS

Mr. Labbe has represented REITs, institutional investors, developers and other owners of real estate as well as public and private companies as landlord and tenant in all aspects of their leasing activities. Among the landlord clients he has assisted are BlackRock Realty Advisors, Boston Properties, ING/Clarion, Equity Office and Brookfield Properties. Tenant clients he has represented include Investors Bank & Trust, New Balance Athletic Shoe, Bank of America, The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Evergreen Solar and Mercury Computer Systems.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Mr. Labbe is a member of the Boston Bar Association and American Bar Association. He served as a co-chair of the Real Estate Section Leasing Committee of the Boston Bar Association from 2006-2008. During law school, Mr. Labbe represented Boston University School of Law in the National First Amendment Moot Court Competition held at Vanderbilt University in 1997.

MEDIA

Mr. Labbe has presented a seminar on “Leasing Basics” for the Leasing Committee of the Boston Bar Association on numerous occasions. Along with Trudy Ernst, he co-authored an article in Banker & Tradesman entitled “Landlords, Tenants and Accessibility Part II: Drafting the Leases Provisions” (June 2001). While attending Boston University School of Law, he served as a staff member of the Probate Law Journal.
