Michael Jabbawy is an associate in the firm's Business Law Department and a member of its Technology Companies Group. He represents both investors and private and public companies in the technology sector and focuses on general corporate and securities law. Mr. Jabbawy is a key contributor to Goodwin Procter’s Founders Workbench, an online resource for start-ups, emerging companies and the entrepreneurial community. He joined Goodwin Procter in 2011.
Mr. Jabbawy advises technology and other emerging companies at all stages of maturity, including formation, initial funding, expansion and exit. His practice centers on clients in the software, hardware, e-commerce, digital media, healthcare information technology, security and other technology-driven industries. He also represents leading private equity and venture capital funds in connection with portfolio company investments, buyouts and recapitalizations. Mr. Jabbawy has counseled issuers and underwriters in connection with initial public offerings and represented buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions. He also regularly advises companies on intellectual property, employment, equity compensation and corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Mr. Jabbawy was an associate in the New York office of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP.
While attending law school, Mr. Jabbawy was a senior member of the Brooklyn Law School Journal of Law & Policy.
