Areas of Practice
Annemarie Hassett, a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Litigation Practices, focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, with particular expertise in patent infringement and trade secret disputes. Ms. Hassett also practices in the area of white collar criminal defense. She joined Goodwin Procter in 2005.
Work for Clients
Ms. Hassett has represented clients on intellectual property matters involving a wide range of technologies, including cellular telephone systems, razor blades, medical devices, semiconductors, wireless communications and optical amplifiers. Ms. Hassett has also defended clients on federal criminal matters at all stages of proceedings, including at least 15 federal jury trials.
Professional Activities
Ms. Hassett is the co-author of “Pyruvate Kinase: Is the Mechanism of Phospho Transfer Associative or Dissociative?,” in Biochemistry, and “Stereochemical Analysis of Phospho Transfer,” in Methods in Enzymology. In addition, she has made presentations before several industry groups and organizations, including the Bar Associate Training Program of the Committee for Public Counsel Services and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.
While attending law school, Ms. Hassett was the Editor-in-Chief of the HastingsLaw Journal.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Ms. Hassett was a partner at Kirkland and Ellis LLP, where she was a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.
Bar and Court Admissions
Ms. Hassett is admitted to the New York and Massachusetts bars, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First and Second Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
