Brian Hail, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and a member of its Commercial Litigation Practice, concentrates on complex commercial litigation and restructuring matters, including the representation of financial institutions, hedge funds, private investors and investment banks in various civil and insolvency matters. He also has extensive experience advising clients on complex litigation involving contract disputes, securities fraud claims and valuation disputes.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Mr. Hail is a member of the New York State Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Dallas Bar Association and Federal Bar Council. He received an award for his pro bono activities on behalf of indigents and prisoners, and is a member of the pro bono panel of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

PUBLICATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS

Mr. Hail has written and contributed to several papers on litigation and insolvency, including articles involving international litigation and federal practice and procedure.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Mr. Hail began legal practice at the New York office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Immediately prior to joining Goodwin Procter in 2007, he was a partner in the New York office of Haynes & Boone LLP.

Mr. Hail is admitted to practice in New York and Texas, and before the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, Northern District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Fifth Circuits.
