Ed Hagerott, a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Business Law Department and a member of the Real Estate, REITs & Real Estate Capital Markets Group, has extensive experience in many types of real estate transactions.

Mr. Hagerott is a member of the State Bar of California, Real Property Section; the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Real Property Section (for which he served as chair of the General Practice Subsection from 1999-2001); and the Urban Land Institute. He is also serves on the editorial board of the firm’s real estate practice newsletter REsource: A Goodwin Procter Publication for the Real Estate Industry.

Mr. Hagerott has lectured at continuing legal education programs on topics relating to real estate finance and joint ventures. He is the author of “Considerations When Purchasing Loans in Today’s Market,” published in The Real Estate Finance Journal (Winter 2008); “Drafting Construction, Operation, and Reciprocal Easement Agreements for Vertical Mixed-Use Projects,” published in The Practical Real Estate Lawyer (November 2002); and the co-author of “Junior Trust Deeds: A Primer for Senior and Junior Lenders,” published in California Real Property Journal (Summer 1993). In addition, he was the subject of an in-depth Commercial Property News interview entitled “Q&A: Hagerott Sees Investment Market Shifts” (September 2008).

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Mr. Hagerott was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP.
