Alyssa Grikscheit, a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department, has a diverse corporate practice that currently emphasizes complex transactions and alternative investment funds. Her experience also includes private equity and hedge funds, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, restructurings, securities law, licensing and general corporate law. Ms. Grikscheit is fluent in Spanish and French and has a special expertise in international transactions, particularly those involving Latin America and other emerging markets such as China and India.

Ms. Grikscheit is co-chair of the Inter-American Committee of the International Law and Practice Section of the New York State Bar Association, and is a member of that section’s Executive Committee. She is a member of the Committee on Negotiated Acquisitions of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, the International Law Section of the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association. In addition, Ms. Grikscheit is a life fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor limited to one-third of one percent of lawyers. She was formerly a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and formerly served as the Casenotes Editor for the International Law News.
PUBLICATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
Ms. Grikscheit is the author of several published book chapters and articles, including “Private Equity in Latin America: Strategies for Success,” in Latin American Law & Business Report, “Structuring the International Acquisition” in International Joint Ventures, Mergers & Acquisitions, and “Extracting Value From Solid Alliances” and “Buying and Selling When the Going Gets Tougher” in Mergers & Acquisitions: The Dealmaker’s Journal. In addition, she has been a featured speaker and moderator at numerous legal industry and other events.
While attending law school, Ms. Grikscheit was the Book Review Editor for the Michigan Law Review.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Ms. Grikscheit was counsel at O’Melveny & Myers, where she was a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions/Private Equity Practice Group. She previously spent time as a stagiaire at JeantetAssociés in Paris.

RECOGNITION
Ms. Grikscheit has been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. In 2006, she received the prestigious Burton Award for Legal Achievement, which recognizes excellence in legal scholarship. Ms. Grikscheit was honored for authoring “Private Equity in Latin America: Strategies for Success,” which appeared in Latin American Law & Business Report. She was also awarded the First Prize for Best Paper presented at the Inter-American Bar Association Annual Conference in 2005.
