Areas of Practice

Trudy Ernst, of counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Group, has worked extensively in all aspects of commercial real estate. Ms. Ernst currently serves as Goodwin Procter’s Director of Knowledge Management. In this capacity, she leads a team that promotes and supports efficiency – producing high-quality work quickly – and collaboration, both within and among groups at the firm. Using both human and technological processes, the Knowledge Management team helps Goodwin Procter attorneys to “work smart.”

Work for Clients

Ms. Ernst represents corporate clients in their ongoing real estate programs, including acquisitions and dispositions and leasing. She has represented landlords and tenants in a large number of commercial leases and currently chairs the firm’s Leasing Practice. She has substantial experience representing real estate investors in both participating debt and equity transactions. She also has significant experience representing institutional lenders making large commercial mortgage loans, and developers in development projects and financings. In addition, Ms. Ernst has represented both issuers and underwriters in public capital market financings.

Professional Activities

Ms. Ernst is a member of the Massachusetts, California and American Bar Associations and the Real Property Sections of the Boston, California and American Bar Associations. She co-chairs the Leasing Committee of the Boston Bar Association’s Real Estate Section and is an associate member of the Newton, Massachusetts Zoning Board of Appeals.
