Howard Cubell is a member and former chair of the Tax Practice at Goodwin Procter LLP. Mr. Cubell’s practice focuses on the development of innovative tax strategies for various domestic and international business transactions and collective investment vehicles, with particular emphasis on representing private equity sponsors in acquiring, disposing of and recapitalizing portfolio companies.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Cubell recently organized and served as the Co-Chairman of “Private Equity Tax Practices,” a major conference in Boston sponsored by the Institute for International Research.
Mr. Cubell is a member of the International Tax Committee of the Boston Bar Association, of which he was the founding chairman, and a member of the Committee on Corporate Tax of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and the Tax Section of the International Bar Association.

RECOGNITION
Mr. Cubell has been named to the top tier of leading tax attorneys by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, as well as in The Best Lawyers in America. He was also recently selected by the International Tax Review as one of the 10 top tax advisors on the East Coast of the United States.
Mr. Cubell served as Articles Editor of the Boston University Law Review in 1972-1973.
