Robert Basseches, a senior counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department, specializes in the areas of maritime transportation and administrative litigation.

Mr. Basseches is a past-president of the Maritime Administrative Bar Association and a past-chair of the American Bar Association Maritime Transport Subcommittee.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Basseches was an attorney at Shea & Gardner prior to its combination with Goodwin Procter in 2004. Before his practice at Shea & Gardner, he served as Law Clerk to Justice Hugo L. Black of the U.S. Supreme Court and Judge David L. Bazelon of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
