As the first woman to be chairman and managing partner of an AmLaw 100 law firm, Regina M. Pisa has led Goodwin Procter for more than a decade. She is highly committed to the advancement of women, not only at the firm, but in the field of law. With her support and guidance, we have formed the Women’s Initiative, a task force designed to maximize networking and career opportunities for women at the firm. Our Women’s Initiative task force includes women and men, partners and associates, from every office and every department. Women’s Initiative-sponsored workshops and seminars address relevant topics such as professional development, training, career growth, business development and work-life balance.

Awards and Recognition

Goodwin Procter has been named as a "Top Law Firm for Women" by MultiCultural Law Magazine (2012)

Goodwin Procter has been named as a “Best Law Firm for Women” by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) and Flex-Time Lawyers.

Goodwin Procter is in the 99th percentile of law firms that include women in leadership positions according to Working Mother magazine

Regina Pisa has been named one of the nation’s best law firm leaders by Edge International and Of Counsel magazine, and has received the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) Barristers Club’s First Annual Diversity Award. She has also been inducted into the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Academy of Distinguished Bostonians, and is a recipient of the Boston Women’s Fund Woman of Action Award.

Lynne Barr has received the William Proxmire Lifetime Achievement Award from the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and the prestigious Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award from the American Bar Association Business Law Section

Jennifer Chunias was honored as one of the Boston Business Journal’s top "40 Under 40," and was also named one of Mass Lawyers Weekly’s "Women of Justice." She has also received a Women’s Bar Association Women of Justice Award.

Laura Hodges Taylor was recognized as one of the Boston region’s leading general practice attorneys by Women’s Business

The Project for Attorney Retention (PAR) recently selected our partner Elaine Blais as a recipient of the 2012 PAR Flex Success Award, which recognizes attorney-client relationships exemplifying how, with client and firm support, attorneys can work on flexible schedules, deliver exceptional legal services and enjoy extraordinarily successful careers. Elaine has successfully maintained a flexible schedule on the firm’s flex-time program since 2002.

Goodwin is one of the first law firms to create a long-term partnership with 85 Broads, and uses the 85 Broads network as one of many tools to build and grow entrepreneurial skills among women attorneys at the firm.
