Aegerion Pharmaceuticals Enters Into Cross License Agreement with Pfizer

Oct. 10, 2006 -- Aegerion Pharmaceuticals Inc., in collaboration with Pfizer Inc. and the University of Pennsylvania, have entered into a cross-license relationship covering a range of patents related to the use of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) inhibitors.  Based on the terms of the agreement, Aegerion can independently pursue product development opportunities involving MTP-based therapies as potential treatments to reduce LDL cholesterol.
