BOSTON, MA — Goodwin, Procter & Hoar LLP is pleased to announce that Stephen D. Poss, a senior partner in the firm's Litigation Department, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Securities Litigation Subcommittee of the Business and Corporate Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Business Law.
The Securities Litigation Subcommittee serves a key Committee function as it is responsible for a significant amount of the programming that the Committee offers at the ABA Annual, Section Spring and stand-alone Winter Meetings of the Committee.
Mr. Poss is co-Chair of the Goodwin Procter's Corporate Governance and Securities Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation and Private Equity/Emerging Companies Practice Groups. Mr. Poss has a national business litigation and counseling practice, particularly in the areas of securities class action defense, disclosure and corporate governance issues, mergers and acquisitions, and contests for corporate control. He spends much of his time advising and representing corporations and their senior executives and boards of directors in crisis situations and in complex business litigation. Mr. Poss has an extensive practice advising venture capital and private equity firms as well as their portfolio companies in connection with post-IPO issues, shareholder buyouts, and transactional and securities litigation.
