Paralegals should have a bachelor’s degree, at least two years of experience in a particular area of legal practice, and an exceptional performance record. Senior paralegals have a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of experience in a particular area of legal practice, and an outstanding performance record.

Case Assistants
Recent college graduates with a keen interest in a legal career can explore the field of law through Goodwin Procter’s case assistant program. This entry-level position requires a two-year commitment and a readiness to work closely with mentoring attorneys. Engagement in cutting-edge legal cases, regular supervision by highly experienced attorneys and paralegals, and special training programs help immerse Goodwin Procter case assistants in the world of law.
Case assistants work on either the litigation or business law side of the firm. A litigation case assistant normally provides administrative support through all phases of litigation from discovery through trial. A business law case assistant works in entity formation and various corporate transactions. Case assistants typically move on to law school, business school, a paralegal track, or another career direction after garnering valuable hands-on legal experience and excellent professional references and contacts.
